Making sure vehicles on our roads are safe

Delta has one of the largest ports on the west coast of North America, and hosts a huge number of commercial and heavy vehicles on its roadway. Ensuring that these vehicles are compliant with the Motor Vehicle Act, Commercial Transport Act, and other regulations help keep our roads and other infrastructure safe and running smoothly. Our inspectors often work with other law enforcement agencies in order to ensure the safe operation and equipping of commercial vehicles.

Heavy trucks can be incredibly dangerous on roadways when they’re not properly checked or maintained. The reason we take these vehicles and equipment safety so seriously is because when a 40-ton vehicle is involved in a collision, the potential results can be so much more disastrous for those involved.
