File 20-15942

The Delta Police Major Crimes section is investigating after a shooting occurred shortly after midnight on July 17, 2020.

The initial investigation was able to quickly establish the incident was a drive-by shooting. The Integrated Forensic Identification Service attended the scene, which has now been released. No other properties are believed to have been impacted, aside from the one residence.

“Officers believe this was a targeted incident and they are now looking into the circumstances and appealing to the public for witnesses and dashcam video,” says Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police. “In particular police are looking for witnesses and video from the areas of 80th Ave to 75A Ave and 118th to 116th Streets between the hours of 11:30 pm July 16 to 12:30 am, July 17.”

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area during that time, or who may have information that could assist police, is asked to call the non-emergency line at 604-946-4411.

The BC Crime Stoppers tip line is also available for those who wish to be anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be taken in 115 languages.
