Police investigating fatal collision in Tsawwassen

Delta Police regret to inform the community that a collision which took place at approximately 6:10 am, March 16, has claimed the life of a 45-year-old Delta woman.

The woman’s vehicle had been travelling westbound on 16th Ave, and a pick-up truck had been travelling north bound on 56th when the collision occurred in the intersection.

The driver of the truck is cooperating fully with police.

“At this point the cause of the collision remains under investigation and police are not in a position to comment on possible causes,” says Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police. “Next of kin notification has been completed, and victim services is being offered to both the family of the deceased as well as the other driver involved in the collision.”

Police are still on scene and the investigation is continuing.

“We want to thank motorists for their patience as they allow police and emergency health services complete their work on site,” says Leykauf.
